Watch Review: The Longines Master Collection

A few weeks back I casually strolled through the city of Frankfurt for no specific reason. It was a rainy day. Empty streets, which gave me the perfect chance to go window shopping with no one around. This is always something I really enjoy. So I passed the store front of one of my favorite jewelers. I actually wanted to have a closer look at one of my grail watches, which is the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Ref. 311.30.42.30.01.006, but instead I spotted something else. I have to admit that I’m a huge fan of classic as well as vintage watches.

I saw a Longines Master Collection watch Ref. L2.628.4.78.3, that was just displayed seconds before. A watch with a beautiful timeless face in a silver high-grade steel case with a sapphire crystal not only on the top but also on the bottom to watch the calibre L619. Firstly I have to admit that Longines was a brand, that I never had in mind buying a watch from (I don’t know why. It was just out of my scope).

Black arabic numbers, a silver-white patterned face, a date calendar on the bottom, as well as the royal blue hands make the watch in that combination unique.

A minute later I found myself inside the store, trying on the Master Collection piece I just fell in love minutes before. Usually its quiet of a overcoming to go to a jeweler, to try on a watch with no actual ambition to buy it. Yet I tried it on and my initial thought was: “I need this masterpiece in my collection!”. A 38,5mm automatic watch, perfect for ever occasion, as well as for wearing it on a daily basis. So I didn’t hesitate and bought it straight away. Normally I don’t do such impulse buys, but in this particular case it was just love at first sight. As mentioned earlier: A watch that I love to wear on a daily basis and can highly recommend to everyone who’s looking for a reliable, timeless watch with the specific mostest.
